Chiropractic for Dizziness

If you suffer regularly from vertigo or general dizziness then you will understand how distressing and uncomfortable it can be.

Constant movement, nausea, possibly fainting, and a feeling of never being still, combined with the possibility of falls and bumping into things can plague your life, and if you don’t know what it is causing it, this can add worry to the situation too.

There are many possible causes for dizziness, and you may be prescribed medications to help minimise the effects, however as with any drug for any condition, these could come with attached side effects, which could make life unpleasant in other ways too.

Luckily help is at hand, without side effects.

Chiropractic has been shown to be very successful in treating dizziness symptoms and getting to the root cause of the problem, without the need for drugs. Of course, a detailed history and diagnosis of the cause of the dizziness needs to be carried out first and Epping chiropractor, Dr Gus Gunther, is highly experienced in identifying a wide range of dizziness-related problems and carrying out gentle chiropractic treatment methods to correct the problem.

Here at Balance Chiropractic, we understand how upsetting dizziness can be, and our aim is to help you with gentle chiropractic methods.

Causes of Dizziness

Of course, we mentioned that you need to identify the cause of the dizziness first, and this can be down to a number of different issues.

Symptoms of dizziness can be because of a medical condition, a virus, or a trauma to the head or neck, and they can be transient, or they can be present for a longer period of time, it all depends on the individual. Chiropractic treatment offers a safe and effective answer to these issues.

Vertigo is perhaps the most common cause of dizziness, giving unpleasant nauseous feelings and a constant feeling of unsteadiness. Vertigo is caused by an imbalance or problem in the inner ear, which is all connected to the vestibular system of the body.

This particular system is important for giving you balance, sensing movement, and helping you stay still and anchored. When there is a problem in this area, you feel dizzy and nauseous as a result.

There are other more complicated causes of dizziness which need to be ruled out too, such as benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, another form of vertigo, and this occurs when small crystals of calcium carbonate form and fall into parts of the ear where they shouldn’t; this then goes on to cause the symptoms of vertigo.

Meniere’s Disease is another condition which causes dizziness-like symptoms, and this is something which needs to have a firm, final diagnosis, however chiropractic methods have been shown to be helpful in vestibular correction.

There are many other causes of dizziness, and it is a very individual-based problem, which needs thorough assessment, diagnosis, and then treatment.
